by Cecilia Armstrong

Look how cool this is! The very-first-in-car GPS! Cool right?

WHAT DO YOU WANT WITH MY LIFE? OH, you are here to read the report huh? Oh okay. Just to let you know that what you are going to learn with make you go out of this World, literally you will learn how it works in space it will be so cool. Well let me tell you what you will learn in this report, you want to know right? It is a GPS! Not excited? Okay let’s try again.   It is Global Navigating System! Really you are excited? Yes finally! You will learn a lot of really cool things in the first paragraph. For example, how it works in your car, on your phone, etc. Next, you will read about how much satellites are in space, like how much satellites are working.  Finally, you will read about how the new GPS’ is very different from the old GPS. I’ll bet you didn’t know that the first GPS was sent out on February 22, 1978 . Isn’t this all cool? Can’t wait to read more? Let’s go!

How the gps works with technology

Here how cool this is! Did you know that the gps even works in your car too? Did you know that tomtom.com said there is a reciever that goes from Earth to the satellite to Earth again? There is 12,600 miles or 20,300 kilometers that travels there and back. Around Earth’s orbit they choreograph it. (choreograph means to record step by step when it moves). I think that is cool because they record and learn a lot of new things. At the same time I think that is sad because they have to do all that work. Isn’t that cool, yet very sad and tiring that they have to do that job?

This paragraph is about how it works on your phone. This is practically the same with a car but this time we are just using a phone.  According to, www.everymac.com it can be used with wifi, but now that phones have wifi without a computer server so they can use a gps. Of course this all helps and all leads to a gps receiver. (A gps receiver is something that is designed to move when you move). I think this is so cool because it moves when you move your car or when you walk or run. This is all so cool and fun to learn!

How much satellites are in space and are working

Guess what? There are 27 satellites in space but only 24 are working because the three that don’t work got burned up and the people who put them up there are either afraid of leaving the Earth’s atmosphere or they are to lazy. Did you know that http://www.universetoday.com they said that more than 50% of the satellites that don’t work they can’t bring down. Know why? It is either that they ran out of gas or the people are really lazy. Isn’t this so cool that they are really lazy? No well they are not the satellites are just big and it is almost impossible now to bring it back down well unless in the future they can find out a way to bring them back.
