Home Automation

by Hay Bay Jay

Ding Dong. Your doorbell rings. Your TV hushes on it’s own. Imagine if you could do that! Now, you can! This report is about Home Automation.  In this report you will read about the history of home automation.  For example, did you that home automations gone a long way since it was made? Next, you will read about how it works, like that you can quiet your tv by just saying shh.  Finally, you will read about other interesting facts. I’ll bet you didn’t know that you can see who rings the doorbell through a camera.

History

Ever wonder how home automation got started? I’ll tell you! According to Alarm Systems Report, home automation got started when someone got tired of people breaking into other people's houses. There had to be a solution. So, they started thinking. What if you could monitor your house while you were away? What if something would alert you if someone broke in, or was trying too. Imagine what problems that would solve. That is amazing! Imagine going on a vacation with nothing to worry about! At least not your house.

What problems did home automation fix? I got my information from Mashable.com. Home automation fixed lots of things and detecting robbers is just one of them. Now, you can know who’s at the door without even getting up! And, you can unlock your door from miles away! Now that is outstanding! No more rushing home to unlock the door for someone. No more worrying about if your children got home safely, because you’ll have cameras to check on them anytime, from anywhere!

Is home automation all good? Let’s find out. Tech Times says, home automation caused some big problems! It’s fantastic to be able to turn on lights, your radio or TV, or your music from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, it does have some downers. If someone steals your device, they have all that power! That is not good at all! I don’t want someone unlocking my doors at night to come in and rob me! Plus they can disarm the alarm system so it’ll be an easy take.

How it Works

Some of the MANY things that home automation can do. According to Savant.com, there is countless things you can do! First, you can turn on the lights when you are not even in your house. Second, you can turn on the jets in your hot tub (if you have one that is) from your bedroom, or your grandparents, friends, or moms house! Third, you can play music through the speakers by just clicking a button on on your iPhone. I totally want that! That’s cool in so many ways, and that is just three of the hundreds of things you can do! And to think, all of this, at the click of a button!

What can home automation can do that guard dog can’t.=) Mashable.com, has quite a few ideas. Home automation can do a lot  more than a guard dog. Can your dog close the garage? Can it turn on or off lights from far away? Of course not! Plus, if someone tries to break in, your dog will not notice until they are in your home. Home automation will warn you before that. As you can see, a guard dog is great, but not as effective as home automation

Home automation works in many ways. Here are a few. According to Savant.com, all you really need to do is press a button. After home automation is installed in your home, you just need to download the home automation app. It’s that easy!
