How it works? Guess Who? Well this is from Gary Marshall. A smartphone went around the earth to collect data and this happened in February 2013. It is called STRAND-1. The phone is really tiny. A cool fact is that it has panels that rotate out when it needs power.
When the phones came out? Well According to Gary marshall people started thinking about smartphone ideas in 1970 but phones did not start coming out until 1992. The phone maker was the IBM. They also had a demonstration the very same year at a show named the COMDEX.
They are making new and improved phones. According to Mac Rumors, they are making a new phone that will come out in several months. In January 2016 there will be a lot of chatter about this new invention. There is many improvements to the new phone.

Your phone can do lots of things. It can even turn your lights on or off by your phone. I read from Verizon and you can turn your lights on and off if you left the house and forgot. You can get the app called WeMo Light Switch. You can also set it to certain times to turn off. You can also set how bright
Your phone can be really helpful and useful. Did you know that if you get really sick your doctor can find out where you were like the country or temperature or how much exercise you have been doing by the smartphone.

Here is some cool features about phones. According to Gary Marshall they made self-driving cars. It is worth a lot of money. It has a lot of mechanical hardware. A cool thing is that a University in Australia can do all of that with just one phone.
Did you know that people go on phones way to often. According to Madlen Davies people spend more time on devices then going to sleep. It says that the normal person spends 8 hours and 41 minutes on devices. Which is 20 more minutes then the amount of time you should be sleeping.
