HDTV

Intro

Have you ever thought that TV has bad focus?  Did you know that there is a much better TV with the sharpest focus ever?  I am going to tell you all you need to know about HDTV.  I will teach you what it is or does, how it works, and its history or future.

What it is or does

What is it?  According to Wikipedia, HDTV is High-Definition Television.  When they say ŇDefinitionÓ it is the sharpness and focus-- meaning HDTV is really good in that.

What does it do?  HDTV does things such as making something in a movie clearer and easier to see.  So if there is something in a movie that the camera was too close to, you could see it better!

How many pixels does it have?  HDTV definitely has a lot more pixels than a standard TV.  I found on barrel-of-monkeys.com that standard TV has about 210,000 pixels, and HDTV has about 2,073,600 pixels.  ThatŐs a big improvement!

How it works

WhatŐs the difference between TV and HDTV?  According to alkenmers.com, the difference between the two is the screen size and the number of pixels.  HDTV has a screen about the size of a computer monitor, only itŐs usually a flat screen.  But sometimes they can be the size of a big screen TV!  Also, HDTV can fit a lot more pixels because the pixels are smaller and are squished together so that they are touching.  Think about how many pixels you could fit that way!

History or Future

Who in invented it?  Skyvision.com says that HDTV was made by a ton of companies working together, and those companies are: General Instrument, Zenith, Sarnoff Labs (RCA), the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), AT&T Labs, and Philips.

How much better will it be in the future?  HDTV will probably improve a lot in 100 years.  It will most likely have 4,000,000 more pixels.  I donŐt really know.  ThatŐs just my guess.

Conclusion

In conclusion, you might think of HDTV as an improvement in TV technology.  I hope you enjoyed learning about what it is or does, how it works, and its history or future.
