Intro

Have you ever had an incident where you need money and you donÕt have any change?  Well ATM can help.  The ATM is a cool invention that allows you to get cash instantly whenever you want, even if banks are closed. If you read this report you will learn the history of ATM, what it is and does, how it works, buying, usage, and security.  So read this report.

History

Do you really know who invented ATM? According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How Stuff Works, in 1939 Luther George Simijian invented the first ATM but it was not successful. For the next 25 years nothing happened to ATM until Da la Rue invented a successful ATM.  Don Wetzel also invented a successful ATM in the year 1968. 

ATM is used all over the world but the fist one was in New York City by the City Bank of New York. Luther George Simijian version of the ATM was but into the bank in 1939. After 6 months in the bank it was taken out of customer acceptance. On June 27, 1967 Da la Rue version of the ATM was but in Barclays Bank in Enfield London.  Don Watzel made the first modern ATM in the USA and in 1973 was but in the Chemical Bank. 

What it is and Does

What is an ATM? According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How Stuff Works, ATM stand for Automated Teller Machine. An ATM is a machine that when you put in your pin and your card in it will send signals to a computer in the bank and will take how much money you want out of your checking account.   

WhereÕs an ATM when you need it? ATMs are all over but they are only were large people are gathered and you should only use an ATM when a least a couple people can see you.     

How it Works

How do ATM work? According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How Stuff Works, the ATM send signals to a host computer which sends signals to the bank computer and then back and forth to the ATM using phone lines.

What is in an ATM? According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How it works, a couple things that are in an ATM are card reader, keypad, speakers, display screen, and deposit slot. There are many other functions that are in ATM but these are the ones people see.

Buying

 ATM cost a lot of money to produce but it is a great invention that solved peoples problems of having money when banks are not opened. According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How Stuff Works says, ATM cost 5 million dollars to produce.  Some people think it was worth the money others donÕt.

Usage

ATM solved a couple of problems but there was one main one. According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How Stuff Works says, you could get money any time you want.

Either you love ATMÕs or hate them. an average person will use an ATM about 5 times a month.

To use an ATM you need the perfect pin number. According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How stuff works, the perfect pin number is you need to remember it but not someone can get it right off the bat.   You shouldnÕt write it down your pin number but if you have to donÕt put it in your purse or wallet.  

Security

You need security for an ATM. According to Wikipedia foundation, Inventers.com and How Stuff Works, when you are at an ATM make sure there are at least a few people that can see you so people donÕt rob you.  The banks also have cameras always looking at the ATMÕs.
