This invention helped keep people alive if they have a heart failure and need a new heart to live.

How it works

How does the artificial heart work? Well, according to Mary Bellis the batteries make it run in the same way as a natural heart would. It pumps blood with the power of the batteries. The batteries are attached to the invention. The artificial heart for now is only meant for adults, but now the original inventor is trying to make a smaller version that can go in children.
