Intro

Have you ever put on boxing gloves for a nice little fight?  When you get punched with a boxing glove, it hurts a little.  But, when you get punched with an electric glove (taser inside), you better get ready to hit the ground.  Read this report and you will find out other cool things about tasers like what they are, some history, and how it works.

What it is.

This paragraph is about what taser stands for. According to cbs news “"Taser" stands for "Thomas A. Swift Electric Rifle." It is named after a series of children's science-fiction novels written in the early 20th century featuring the young genius inventor Tom Swift.http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/tasers/ Taser stands for tom a. swift's electric rifle.

History

This paragraph is about who invented the first taser.  According to Silva J.A. Talvi “In 1974, a NASA scientist named Jack Cover invented the first stun gun, which he named the TASER, or “Thomas A. Swift Electric Rifle,” after Tom Swift, a fictional young inventor who was the hero of a series of early 20th century adventure novels. Because it relied on gunpowder, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms classified Tasers as registered firearms.” (www.intheseimes.com). The taser was invented by jack cover.

This paragraph is about who owned the first taser.  According to www.taser.com “Who made the first TASER electronic control devices before TASER ... the acquisition of all significant assets owned by Taser Technologies Inc.” (www.taser.com (www.taser.com/COMPANY/Pages/trivia)).  The first company to own the first taser was taser technologies Inc.

This paragraph is about if anyone had died from a taser. According to www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17014502 “At first, we're just videotaping. It's just an entertainment thing, Pritchard says. "But when you hear that zapping of the Taser and you hear him screaming, it became very, very real." Witnesses say Dziekanski was shocked at least twice before he died.” (www.npr.org). They were zapping each other and the other won eventually died from two zaps!

How it works

This paragraph is about how hard tasers shoot.  According to, http://digg.com/gadgets/The_First_Taser_1935, “More punch than can be found in a boxing-glove is contained in a new electric glove invented for use by police while handling rough characters or in quelling riots. Persons contacted by an officer wearing the glove receive a 1,500-volt shock, sufficient to remove all traces of fight.” (www.digg.com). It can shoot harder that a boxer can hit you it can shoot 1500 volts of shock.
