SPACE SHUTTLE vs. HYBRID CARS

What a space shuttle is

Is it true that launching the Space Shuttle creates a local ozone hole, and that the Space Shuttle releases more? According to NASA, No that is not true. NASA        has studied the effects of exhaust from the Space Shuttle's sol rocket motors on the ozone. In a 1990 report to Congress, NASA found that the chlorine released annually in the stratosphere (assuming launches of nine Shuttle missions and six Titan IVs -- which also have solid rocket motors -- per year) would be about 0.25 percent of the total amount of halocarbons released annually worldwide (0.725 kilotons by the Shuttle 300 kilotons from all sources). NO it does not make a hole in the ozone. SO we harmlessly pass throw the ozone.

What is a Hybrid Car?

This paragraph is about what the word “hybrid” means.  According to Julia Layton, the word hybrid means two of anything.  So, something that has TWO power sources is a hybrid.  That's why we call cars that use gas and electricity hybrids.  It is two in one like a robot and a popcorn maker in one.

This paragraph is about some examples of hybrids, which are NOT cars.  According to Julia Layton, some examples of non-car hybrids are trains, buses, and submarines.  The trains and the buses use diesel fuel and electricity.  The submarines use nuclear power and electricity. So there are hybrid cars and not hybrid cars. Cool.

This paragraph is about what a hybrid car is.  According to Toyota.com, a hybrid car has two sources of power.  First, it has a gasoline engine.  Second, it has an electric motor.

This paragraph is about how much less pollution a hybrid car makes than a regular car.  According to Toyota.com, A hybrid makes less than half of the pollution than a normal car.  These dangerous emissions are called CO2.

Wow! This is an awesome website that is really easy to understand.  It teaches all about hybrids, but it doesn't use big, fancy college words, like Wikipedia, etc.
