Hybrid Cars

By green cheese

Intro

Do you want FLIPEN $50 IN CASH!! Well now you can, (if u buy a hybrid car) though you have to spend money to save money.

What it is

This paragraph is about why hybrid cars were invented. According to Julia Layton, hybrid cars were invented because gas prices are so crazy!  It can cost $50 just to fill up your gas tank one time.  They were also invented because many people are worried air pollution, which is hurting our earth.  I think if I had a hybrid car, I would spend my gas money on food.

How it works

This paragraph is about how it works. According to Julia Layton, it actually re-charges its own battery! - Whenever you push on the brake pedal of your car, you are removing energy from the car (usually friction and heat). The faster a car is going, the more kinetic energy it has. The brakes of a car remove this energy and usually just waste it in the form of heat. A hybrid car can capture some of this energy and store it in the battery to use later. I think that would be like a Popsicle where you eat it, but it comes back on the stick whenever you sneeze.

Cool stuff

This paragraph is about what hybrid cars really mean. According to Julia Layton The word hybrid actually means taking two things and making them work together: like gas and electricity. Some people have owned a "hybrid" vehicle and they didn't even know it. For example, do you know anyone who owns a mo-ped (a motorized pedal bike)? A mo-ped is just a bike with a little engine on it. A mo-ped is a hybrid because it combines the power of a gasoline engine with the power of human legs (pedal power). I think

This paragraph is about what the Hybrid car is. According to Julia Layton So, anyithing that has two sources of power is called a hybrid. In fact, hybrid vehicles are all around us. Most of the locomotive trains we see are diesel-electric hybrids. They have a deisel engine and an electric engine. I think this is like a moter bike you half to push the pedel to go.

This is a article about what a Hybrid car is.
According to Julia Layton Cities like Seattle have diesel-electric buses -- The buses use electricity from overhead wires or they can use their diesel engines when they are away from the wires. So that is pretty much a hybrid.

This article is about what a hybrid car is. According to Julia Layton Some Submarines are also hybrid vehicles -- They use nuclear power and electric power. They are called nuclear-electric hybrids. WOW THATŐS COOL

Conclusion

Thank you for reading my report about Hybrid cars. I hope you enjoed it.

Brief Summary:

Wow! This is an awesome website that is really easy to understand.  It teaches all about hybrids, but it doesn't use big, fancy college words, like Wikipedia, etc.
