An organ transplant lets you live by getting another organ (when you don't have an organ that you need or when an organ that you need is damaged) from someone that doesn't need it.  IsnŐt that great!

History

This paragraph is about why it was invented.  According to Wikipedia.  Organ transplants were invented so that you can live by getting an organ from someone else (who doesn't need it and/or can live without it) when you don't have one of the organs that you need or if one of your organs is damaged (and you can't live without that organ).  It is great that you can live by getting someone elseŐs organ when you an organ.

This paragraph is about how many people died last year because they didnŐt get a kidney.  According to James A. White, and the National Kidney Foundation.  More than four thousand, five hundred (4,500) people died because no one donated a kidney and they all really, really needed them.  I think that is really sad.

How it works

This paragraph is about donating organs for an organ transplant.  According to Wikipedia. You can be a newborn to 80 years old to be able to donate an organ.  So that means that if your not 81 years old yet you can donate an organ or organs for an organ transplant(s)!  According to Wikipedia.  When you give an organ for an organ transplant you could get money from donating it.  I wonder how much money that you could get by giving an organ for an organ transplant.

This paragraph is about the organs for an organ transplant. According to wiki.answers.com. So you can transplant any organ you can live without having it or any organ that you have two of.  So if you have (had) two kidneys you could donate a kidney.  Cool!

This paragraph is about which organs can and canŐt be transplanted.  According to wiki.answers.com. The brain is the only organ that we know for sure that it can't be transplanted.  If the brain could be transplanted I wonder if the other person would know what you knew.  According to wiki.answers.com.  You can transplant any organ you can live without having or any organ that you have two of.  IsnŐt that cool.

This paragraph is about which organs are transplanted the most often.  According to wiki.answers.com.  The organs that are transplanted the most often are the kidney and the liver.  Why am I not surprised.
