Snake eyes, and the money car!

By: zucala and Ruger

Intro

#1 have you wanted to see in the dark like a cat or snake or something?  Here it is you can now see in the dark with how the night vision works and its history. #2 Now have you been driving in your car and realized that your low on gas and you see a gas station but you donÕt go get gas because of MONEY! And you end up on the side of the road with no gas. Well if you only knew about the hybrid. It saves gas, it has a good history and it works well thatÕs what Ill be telling you about!!! P.S the money car is called the money car cause it saves money once you get it but when you try to by it, itÕs a lot of money! GET IT!J

Night Vision History

When were they first used? When were the first night vision goggles used? In World War II both armyÕs used night vision goggles. They said they could see like animas, which was really nice. The war actually lasted longer because somewhat of the night vision goggles. Night vision goggles were first used in World War I. So thatÕs why the war lasted longer! TA-DA!J

How Hybrids Save Gas

This paragraph is about how a hybrid saves gas by stepping on the brake.  According to Julia Layton, one way a hybrid gets such good gas mileage is that it is able to recover energy from the car and store it in its battery.  For example, when you step on the brake, rather than waste the energy on heat, it captures the energy and sends it back to the battery.  Getting energy from pressing on the brake?  This is awesome!  It would be like getting money for old toys that you donÕt even want any more.

This paragraph is about how a hybrid saves gas by turning off the engine. Lula latent and krim nice said the hybrid gets such good gas mileage is that it sometimes just turns off the gasoline engine.  Because the hybrid has an extra power source (the electric motor), it just turns off the gas engine, when it doesn't need it.  For example, when a hybrid is stopped at a red light, the gas engine just quits, and saves gas. And thatÕs a great way to save money because, just a little adds up! $$$$$$$$$$$

This paragraph is about how a hybrid saves gas by reducing wind-resistance. Lula latent and krim nice sorses says Use advanced aerodynamics to reduce drag - When you are driving on the freeway, most of the work your engine does goes into pushing the car through the air. This force is known as aerodynamic drag. This drag force can be reduced in a variety of ways. One sure way is to reduce the frontal area of the car. Think of how a big SUV has to push a much greater area through the air than a tiny sports car.
Reducing disturbances around objects that stick out from the car or eliminating them altogether can also help to improve the aerodynamics. For example, covers over the wheel housings smooth the airflow and reduce drag. And sometimes, mirrors are replaced with small cameras. Another way hybrids get such good gas mileage is by reducing wind-resistance. When your car is zipping down the freeway at 75 mph, it has to push through a lot of wind (have you ever stuck your hand out the window at 75 mph?).  So hybrids are designed so that the wind flies over the car, instead of having the car push through it. Well itÕs hard. Wow thatÕs so cool!~~~~~~~~~(thatÕs wind)~~~~~~~~~

This paragraph is about how a hybrid saves gas with its fancy on-board computer.  Julia laten and krim nice  . Another way hybrids get such good gas mileage is because they have an onboard computer that continually calculates how much power is needed.  The computer does a great job of saving gas because you only use gas when you really need it (like speeding up). For your entire ride, the computer will be calculating when to let the gasoline engine do all the work and how much of a boost it needs from the electric motor. Because of the intermittent (but powerful) assist from the electric motor, the gasoline engine can achieve basically the same performance as a conventional car even when it has a smaller, more efficient size.

Hybrid History

This paragraph is about why the hybrid was invented.  Karim nice and Julia laten. The reason they invented hybrid cars is because of gas prices and pollution.  As gas prices go up and up and up, it costs like $50 just to fill your tank.  Also, our cars give off pollution that might hurt our earth.  It's something called the greenhouse effect. Have you pulled your car up to the gas pump lately and been shocked by the high price of gasoline? As the pump clicked past $20, $30, $40 or even $50, maybe you thought about trading in your car for something that gets better mileage. Or, maybe you're worried that your car is creating too much pollution. Are you worried about the greenhouse effect.

This paragraph is about who invented the hybrid car and when (and what they called it and when it was made).  Give credit. The first hybrid car was called a Mixed Drive for Autovehicles. Happy Birthday, Hybrids! You may not have known it, but March 2 is the 100th anniversary of the granting of the first US patent for what was called the ŌMixed Drive for Autovehicles.Ķ

The hybrid car was invented some time after 1898. In 1898, the 23-year-old Ferdinand Porsche built his first car, the Lohner Electric Chaise—the world's first front-wheel-drive vehicle. Porsche's second car design was a series hybrid (like the Chevrolet Volt, due out in 2010) in which a combustion engine ran a generator that powered electric motors in the wheel hubs. Its battery could take PorscheÕs hybrid car nearly 40 miles—the same as promised by the Volt

How a Hybrid Car Works

This paragraph is about what the electric motor does.  Give credit. A hybrid's electric motor is very sophisticated.  It has really cool electronics that allow it to be a motor for the car and a generator for the battery.  So, when it needs power for the car, it gets it.  When it needs electricity to re-charge, it gets it. Electric motor - The electric motor on a hybrid car is very sophisticated. Advanced electronics allow it to act as a motor as well as a generator. For example, when it needs to, it can draw energy from the batteries to accelerate the car. But acting as a generator, it can slow the car down and return energy to the batteries.

Conclusion

So now you can see like a snake at night  and now you can also save money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ
