The awesome world of awesome Bionics

By The Painted Lady

Intro

Have you ever seen someone with a bionic body part? If you donÕt know anything about bionics then this will teach you a lot. I thought it would be cool to see a bionic body part. My brother said that he saw a guy with bionic legs. Did you ever know that there is a bionic arm that you can control with you mind? Well this is all about cool bionic body parts. This is really cool, well to me. First you will learn what it is and does.  Then you will be amazed by how and if you can do stuff with it. Finally, you will enjoy what has been causing it. I hope you like it and enjoy it! At least I enjoyed it.

What it is and does

This Paragraph is about what bionics means. According to Jon Fischman, bi means life, onics means electronic. I didnÕt know that there was a meaning for bionics but I think it is really really cool. If you didnÕt know there is a meaning in bionics well there is. I think bionics have a good meaning.

This Paragraph is about the word bionics.  According to Wikipidia, Bionics has different words as in biomimicry, biomimetics, bioinspiration, biogenesis, and close to bionical creativity. I didnÕt know that there is another word for bionics, well that means bionics. If you didnÕt know there is another word for bionics, there is another word for bionics. I think its actually is cool to have another word for bionics. I donÕt know what those big words are for.

This Paragraph is about the Ossur bionics.  According to Ossur, Ossur is evolving along similar lines. The knowledge continues to expand. They expand by every step we take.  Biomechanical understanding is already refending the capitals. There is a kind of bionic that is really cool, it is called the ossur bionics. I think similar lines are cool.

This Paragraph is about who invented the bionic arms and legs.  According to Jon Fischman A boy gratitude and was expired to create life not like Frankenstein or anybody like that but to help people lost a leg or arm they can have one again. So, it toke him a couple years to come up with this fantastic achievement.  He helped many people wants to help more then just a million or so!!! I think that a million or so is a lot. DonÕt you think?

How and if you can do stuff with it

This Paragraph is about if you can control the bionic arm.  According to How Stuff Works, There is this bionic arm that you can control. I watched a video and it was really cool. It was about this guy that was in a car accident and he lost his arm. Then the doctors put him by a bionic arm to control it and he was actually controlling the arm! He put his head down and it was moving and while it was moving he looked and then put his arm back down. He said it was really hard at first then he said that he got use to it. He says that it feels like he has a real arm. This is a really cool bionic. You can control it, would you rather have a bionic that you cant control or have one you can control? I think this bionic hand would be really hard, but once you get use to it I think it would be easier.

This paragraph is about how you can see with a bionic eye.  According to How Stuff Works, there is this camera that comes on your tongue. It goes to your tongue to your brain. You can't see it, but you can sense it. IsnÕt that really cool? This thing is really cool like I wonder how it makes you sense it.

This Paragraph is if there is a bionic kidney.  According to National GeographicÕs, bionic kidneys are really cool like I wonder how you can put them in your body. DonÕt you think? I really wonder how, like do you carry it in your hand or something?

This Paragraph is about how the touch bionic works.  According to Touch Bionics.com, there is this bionic that can lend peoples new hands. There is this thing that you touch and it controls the bionic. If you pick up a plastic cup it wont squeeze it too hard. I think that it makes it easier for people that donÕt have hands.

Causing it

This Paragraph is about if it was caused by people

losing body parts.  According to National GeographicÕs, If a starfish loses an arm, it's no big deal. A starfish has regenerative capabilities, so the starfish can grow a new arm. In fact, you can cut a starfish in half and each piece could regenerate, forming two separate starfish! Lots of other organisms have ways to regenerate. Some lizards and salamanders can grow new tails and some insects can grow new legs. We can't do that but doctors, scientists were working together and they made the bionic body parts!!!!!!!!  I think this is really really cool donÕt you think?

Conclusion

Well this is the end. I hope you really liked it! My favorite part was about the bionic arm that you can control with your mind. What about yours? I actually liked it. My favorite picture is the i-limb plus. The touch bionics are really, really cool.  Some times I think how it would feel to have a bionic body part. Would it hurt? Or would it feel weird? I think it would feel awesome! It would suck also. How would you feel with a bionic body part? ItÕs really interesting that people have lost a arm or leg a something.  Some people actually have to get use to that bionic body part.

This article is about two twin babies that they are stuck together and one of the babies have half a body and the other has a normal body. One baby is a girl and the other is a boy. They are both alive. They both have hearts and brains! The girl I think is going to get a bionic body so she can feel how it fells to have a normal body. They need support to help  them stay alive.

Bionics

January 10, 2011

Bionics is the study of "what living things can do" for the purpose of inventing devices that copy or imitate these functions. So, for example, a human is a living thing that can walk. If a human loses his or her leg, then bionics is the study of how to invent a leg that will work just like the human leg before it was lost.

How does a "bionic eye" allow blind people to see?

January 11, 2011

There are 2 kinds of bionic eyes.  One is for people who are partially blind.  It is a small camera inside a fake eye that sends signals to the healthy eye nerves.  The second kind of bionic eye is for people who are totally blind. This one has a small camera attached to the person's glasses.  Since the person is totally blind, it wouldn't do any good to send signals to the eye nerves.  So, instead, the camera sends signals to the persons tongue!  Yes, the tongue.  They can't actually "see" things, but they can "sense" things from the camera with their tongues.  How awesome is that?
