Intro.

FIRE! FIRE! FIRE! Have you ever wondered how an alarm clock works or why we even have alarms? No? Ok! Read my weird and confusing report and you’ll learn at least 1 thing!! You’ll be reading different languages too!! It rings!

How they work

How do alarm remotes work?  According to ehow.com Alarm remote systems operate by way of radio waves, or frequencies, just like any other wireless electronic device. Televisions, cell phones, car alarms, remote control toys, television remotes and many other devices all operate on assigned radio frequencies. I think that is REALLY cool how some remotes work.

How do alarm clocks work?  According to Hubpages.com Without alarm clocks we would be lost. They are a big part of our everyday lives. We need them to wake up for work and appointments. The word clock comes from the French word, “cloche: meaning bell. The Latin for bell is “glocio”, The Saxon is “clugga” and the German is “glocke.” That’s really cool because I can’t say all the languages in the world!! FIRE, FIRE!!!!

Why do alarm clocks go off when they’re really on? According to Wikipedia.com First of all, it is not the clock that is going off, it is the alarm. The alarm is not coming on, as the alarm has already been set but is just activating. To "go off" means to be discharged or activated, but that still is not the answer, since "go on" should mean to activate. That’s very nice to know because I didn’t know that.

History

When did they invent the alarm clock?  According to Yahoo Answeres.com Levi Hutchins inveneted an alarm clock in 1787. He invented them when he was only 26 years old. This is really cool because if it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t have alarm clocks and we would be lost!

Who invented the alarm clock ?  According to Yahoo Answer.com Levi Hutchins invented an alarm clock in 1787. He invented them when he was only 26 years old. I wish I could of invented the alarm clock but I’d have to be REALLY smart to do that!!

January 19, 2011
